Homespun Hearts Snowy

I was the lucky winner of a couple of High Hopes stamps a few weeks ago, and this adorable snowman was one of the stamps that I chose...he's called 'Homespun Hearts Snowy'. I coloured him using watercolour pencils, then added some sparkle to the snow and the hearts with some Stickles. As the image is quite large, I simply added a doodled border, and matted it on to a snippet of navy card.

Birthday Dog...Again!

I know that you've been seeing rather a lot of him on here this month, but I have another 'Birthday Dog' card to share today...I blame the Stamping Sensations 'Use Your Favourite Stamp' challenge! This time, I used more masculine colours, and combined him with papers from the 'Prince Charming' pad by Recollections/Michaels. I distressed the edges, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

Pile It On! Challenge June - Fancy Folds and/or Put a Bird On It

It's the third Sunday of the month, so we have more inspiration, and a bonus theme for this month's Pile It On! Challenge! The themes this month are:

'Fancy Folds'

and

'Put a Bird On It'

You can choose either theme, or combine them on your project.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Stamps:
Prize - 4 Digis of the winner's choice!

I combined the themes, and made an easel card featuring a cute Christmas image by Bugaboo Stamps called 'Snowball Penguins'. I coloured the image using watercolour pencils, then added some sparkle to their snowballs using Stickles. The glittery papers are from the 'Winter Wonderland' pad by My Mind's Eye...I distressed the edges, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Joy to the World' set by Penny Black.

PBSC June - Masculine...More Inspiration!

It's the third Saturday of the month, so that means it's time for some more inspiration for this month's Penny Black Saturday Challenge...where the theme is:

'Masculine'

As usual, we are sponsored by the awesome 1-2-3 Stitch:
Prize - a $20 voucher!

With Father's Day tomorrow...I used the challenge to make a wine bottle tag for a little gift for my Dad. I used an old favourite stamp called 'Present Pile', which I coloured using watercoour pencils, then carefully cut it out. I made the tag from some plain navy card, cutting  hole for the neck of the bottle using one of my Nesties, and rounding the corners using a Woodware punch. I decorated it with some papers from the 'Prince Charming' pad by Recollections/Michaels...distressing the edges, and added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Sentiments' set by Hero Arts.

I'm also entering this tag into the following challenges:

Doggie Delights

I have a simple little one layer card to share today for this week's 'Something Sweet' challenge over at Less is More. I picked a super cute Lili of the Valley image called 'Doggie Delights', which I coloured using watercolour pencils. I then partially stamped the sentiment (from the 'Handwritten Borders' set by Simon Says Stamp) along the top of the card, then doodled a simple border to join it to the bottom of the image.

Birthday Dog...Again!

I have another 'Birthday Dog' card to share today...I couldn't resist colouring another while I had him out! Again, I went for more 'girly' colours...mainly so that I could use a snippet of paper from the 'Happy Day' pad by My Mind's Eye. I kept the card quite CAS, doodling some simple borders using a black gel pen, and adding a couple of sentiments (from the 'Cupcakes' set by Hero Arts).

Gone Fishing!

I've already blogged the card I've made for my Dad's for birthday tomorrow...and this one is for my Mum to give to him. He's a keen fisherman, so when I saw this cute stamp set by Crafter's Companion in a charity shop a little while ago I just had to pick it up...50p well spent I think! I coloured the image using watercolour pencils, and paired it with some papers from the 'Awesome Boy' pad by Recollections/Michaels. I inked around all of the edges using 'Old Paper' and 'Brushed Corduroy' Distress Inks, then distressed them a little, before adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment is a combination of stamps from sets by Paula Pascual & Clearly Besotted...I matted it, and the image, onto pieces of recycled corrugated cardboard...turning the sentiment into a little 'wooden' sign.

For the 'L is for Love' theme, I picked a cute House Mouse image called 'Mistletoe Moment', which I coloured using watercolour pencils. The sentiment stamp is from a set by Lili of the Valley, and the adhesive pearls are from Hobbycraft.

For the 'M is for More than One' theme, I picked a Penny Black stamp called 'Carolers'...featuring 'more than one' caroling chickens! Again, I used watercolour pencils to colour the image...this time adding a sentiment from the 'Caroling Chicks' set by Stamping Bella. I also used 'more than one' paper (all from the 'Christmas Cheer' pad by Lily Bee Design), once again adding a little distressing and some faux stitching.

Birthday Dog

I have a simple little card featuring one of my oldest and most used stamps...'Birthday Dog' by Penny Black. Although I usually use him on more masculine cards, I used the 'neapolitan' colours of this week's Less is More Challenge to make something a little more feminine. I used watercolour pencils to colour the image, then added sentiment (from the 'Anytime Messages' set by Hero Arts), and doodled a simple border.

Pile It On! Challenge June - Fancy Folds

It's the first Sunday of the month, so we have a fun new Pile It On! Challenge starting today! The theme this month is:

'Fancy Folds'

Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Stamps:
Prize - 4 Digis of the winner's choice!

I decided to make a diamond fold card...I have made one of these in the past, but I couldn't remember exactly how, so I followed this tutorial. I always think that the shape of this kind of card looks sort of like a Christmas cracker, so I made a Christmas card. The cute mouse image is from Bugaboo Stamps and is called 'Christmas Mouse Ornaments'...I coloured it using watercolour pencils. The paper is from the 'Christmas Cheer' pad by Lily Bee Designs, and the sentiment stamp is from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous (I split it into two separate words). I simply doodled some simple borders around the edges of everything using a black gel pen.

PBSC June - Masculine!

It's the first Saturday of the month, so that means it's time for a new Penny Black Saturday Challenge...the theme this month is:

'Masculine'

As usual, we are sponsored by the awesome 1-2-3 Stitch:
Prize - a $20 voucher!

It's my Dad's 70th birthday next Saturday...so I used this challenge as an opportunity to get his card made. I used one of the dog images from the 'Man's Best Friend' set, stamping him three times, colouring them with watercolour pencils, and then fussy cutting them out. I made a background scene using plain card, freehand cutting some grassy hills. I made a sign from kraft, adding the '70' cut using my Cuttlebug 'Olivia' alphabet, then placed the dogs leaping over the sign. I doodled a simple border using a black gel pen, then added a sentiment from the 'Anytime Messages' set by Hero Arts.

Skating Fun

I have a Christmas card to share today, featuring a Lili of the Valley stamp that I've had for several years (and used), but only mounted onto cling foam yesterday! It's called 'Skating Fun', and I coloured it using watercolour pencils, adding some sparkle to the icy ground and falling snow with some Stickles. I used a few snippets of patterned paper (from the 'Christmas Cheer' pad by Lily Bee Design) matted on to a snippet of red card for a simple background. I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bugs and a black gel pen. The sentiment stamp is also by Lili of the Valley.

'Christmas'

The sponsor for this challenge is Pink Gem Designs:

If you're a regular visitor to my blog, you'll know that I love making Christmas cards, so I really enjoyed this challenge! I had a dig around in the bottom of my image box, and found this cute Pink Gem Christmas image, that I think is called 'Winter Milly'. I think that she may have been discontinued though as I can't find her in the Pink Gem catalogue. I coloured her using watercolour pencils, then added some sparkle to the snow using Stickles. The papers are from the 'Christmas Cheer' pad by Lily Bee Designs...I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.
